Improvement of gene delivery in vivo is required before realizing broad practical applications in gene therapy employing naked DNA (both for expression plasmids and antisense compounds).

    WelGENE’s complex A was shown to bring much enhanced transfection efficiency upon intra-peritoneal injection, resulting in more than 10 fold (often resulting in 100 fold) enhancement over those obtained with naked DNA alone. The complex that is simple to prepare should be of use in gene delivery of naked expression vectors as well as antisense molecules for in vivo applications.
